Thomas Malcolm "Tommy" Pickles is the main protagonist of the Nickelodeon animated television series' Rugrats and its spin-off All Grown Up!. He is clad in only a T-shirt and a diaper and is bald with big, blank eyes. He translates everything adult into baby gibberish. Arlene Klasky said that she based the character of Tommy on her own son.

In the Rugrats pilot episode, Tommy was voiced by Tami Holbrook. In the TV series, the character was voiced by E.G. Daily. His main catchphrase was "a baby's gotta do, what a baby's gotta do!" Having a Jewish mother and a Christian father, Tommy celebrates both Jewish and Christian holidays (Hanukkah and Christmas).

Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots[]

Tommy appeared as a collectable Master Model in Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots. He represented the All Grown Up show instead of the Rugrats show, which in its way was represented by Angelica. However in the handheld version he is the Master Model for Rugrats.

Ultimate Nickelodeon Brawl Stars X[]

Tommy appears as a playable character in Ultimate Nickelodeon Brawl Stars X. He represents his show along with Kimi Finster, and Reptar, although he is counted as a Rugrats character. Tommy is one of the few who doesn't have supernatural abilities.

Bio[]

Tommy Pickles is a photojournalist/filmaker famous for covering a zombie outbreak at a shopping mall and rescuing its survivors. This experience taught him to utilize objects in his surroundings as deadly weapons. Moreover, he’s got a knack for professional wrestling. Tommy’s positive attitude regardless of the circumstances makes him a valued member of the resistance. However, the horde of zombies that follow him is disconcerting…

Special Powers[]

Although Tommy himself does not possess any superhuman abilities, he is not powerless. Tommy is very skilled, with abilities like:

  • Can adapt many random items into weapons
  • Skilled photographer and filmographer
  • Combat experience and proficiency with firearms due to covering wars
  • Various martial arts and wrestling skills learned while traveling through quarantine and warzones
  • Taught by Chuck Greene to think creatively and combine items into combo weapons
  • Extreme determination
  • Scavenging for food

Hyper Combos[]

  • Blue Light Special: Tommy grabs a shopping cart with four chainsaws taped to it, and then charges forward with the cart. This is the only Hyper Combo of Tommy's that doesn't require any Prestige Points or gets stronger depending on what filmography level Tommy is. It's also a good move for crossover combinations after an air combo because it is an OTG Hyper Combo.
  • Survival Techniques: Tommy charges forward with a throwing object. When this connects, he attacks the opponent with a flurry of attacks of several weapons that varies depending of the level of Filmography, often finishing with a bat-swing-styled attack with the finishing weapon used which inflicts a soft knockdown. It has optional invincibility to most projectiles.
  • Funny Face Crusher: Tommy puts a GIR mask onto the opponent's head so they can't see. He grabs them by the legs, spins them around and throws them. As the dizzied opponent gets up, he runs over and slams their face into the ground. You can increase damage by rotating the joystick. If it's done correctly and quickly, it can also cancel other Hyper Combos.
  • Say CHEESE!: Tommy pulls out the Hail Mary. Subsequently, he throws his opponent into a horde of zombies to finally throw the Hail Mary and ends up exploding along with the zombies where he will grab one to take a photo.

Gameplay[]

Tommy is a heavy hitting melee character, being aggressive having more tools on hand to safely rushdown and/or play footsies. He has fast ground mobility and can pull off a variety of combos in close range, while using his Zombie-related moves as a distraction to either control space or extend combos. While he also possesses above average health, he lacks air mobility and more than one full-screen screen projectile.
